Yireo has been orientating itself on education for many years already. Now that we have released our first book - Programming Joomla Plugins by Jisse Reitsma - we are happy to announce our next move: Trainings. As a first start, we have scheduled 2 group trainings in The Netherlands. And we are also planning to offer online trainings of some sorts as well. What's up?
What's up with training
In the past, Yireo has organized various trainings and bootcamps in the Netherlands (5 - 10 years ago). About 3 years ago, we decided to reorient ourselves more towards extension development. However, througout the years, we were still busy giving private trainings and writing a lot of documentation. In the end we had to admit we simply love sharing knowledge. Around the summer of 2014, we decided therefore to focus more and more on education - making it one of the pillars of Yireo.
Our slogan is Opening Up Technology. Following from that slogan, we love to open up stuff to you as webdesigner or developer. And because we are dealing with so much great technology, it would be a waste not to hand this technology over to you as best as we can. A training allows for that. So here it is: Training allows us to fulfill our mission.
Progressing with education
Acting accordingly, we have joined with various developers in The Netherlands to do cool stuff - see our events for an ongoing list of this. We have now also added 2 in-to-depth workshops for Joomla and Magento fans in The Netherlands:
- A Joomla Development Crash Course on the 8th of July 2015
- A Magento Performance Masterclass on the 9th of September 2015
With both classes, there will be a lot to offer - knowledge, tips and tricks - all for a reasonable price. Additionally, each student gets extra personal assistance after the course has ended. The goal is to get your knowledge to the next level - and we believe that this new approach will give you exactly what you need: A solid helping hand during the entire learning curve.
Next move: Online
A physical training is great in many things, but it is limiting in at least one thing: Distance. It does not make sense to consider a training in The Netherlands, unless you are living in The Netherlands. Already we have received requests to give trainings in Spain and Italy. However, we feel we should pick up on the current trend of online training. But instead of just creating an online screencast subscription service, we believe there should be something extra in it for you. Something like personal assistance, feedback, code reviews, weekly Q&A sessions, and so on. We are still brainstorming on things, so if you have anything to add, let us know!
